Students are given the performance task of designing a logo for 28th SEA Games 2015 for Singapore. The target audience is the general public and the athletes.
In the process of this project, students need to understand the target audience and the fundamentals of drawing which brings about graphics of powerful communication. They need to explore the idea of how communication can be done effectively through signs and symbols. They also need to think about how communication can be done without the use of text.
The project encourages students to use icons to communicate an intended message and observe how icons work with minimal text. The meaning of colours and the fundamentals of drawing are also taught.
